Mohsen Khaled, of the Iraqi National Congress, told Iraq Oil Report the “U.S. has shown no willingness to protect the Iraqi people as it has been doing. It is one thing to be’soft’ with Iran, but another thing to be pro-Iranian. We asked in December to be held accountable for the death of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. We were told ‘that is not the case.'”
Khalil al-Kawthar, Iraqi political advisor to former President Nouri al-Maliki, agreed. “Obama’s recent speech is the latest in a long line of lies delivered by America to try and make the world believe that ISIS is not an Islamic terrorist organization. It says the [Iraqi] people voted for it, so that it’s all over. ISIS is not Islamic and does not represent Islam or any sect of Islam in any part of the world.”

The American government supported the Sunni terrorists who were going to be able to take over Fallujah and Mosul,” he said. “The United States then declared war on ISIL, who was formed as a response to the U.S. government support for the Sunni terrorists. Why? They wanted [ISIS] in charge of Iraq, and it is because of that that they have taken so many of [Fallujah and] Mosul. This is a problem of the Americans and also of the Shiites, who are still the biggest sect in Iraq. They have to control Iraq in order for them to rule the whole region.”
Khaled added, “The Iraqi government is at the moment trying to get to a position of leadership, and I believe there will be a lot of problems with that now that ISIS has been forced to fight on its side.”
Mohammad Tala, a senior advisor and former adviser to former Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki, echoed these concerns. “The United States can never give the terrorists its cooperation. It is for this reason that the American government is trying to take the Iraq war to the Islamic State,” he told Iraq Oil Report. “The fact that Obama told us that he will fight on our side, that was an admission that the Obama administration will start the war and fight by
